War affected people still living under open sky
BUNER: The representatives of the worst affected village of Sultanwas during army operation against militants, have accused the government and organizations of dodging them for one year as the villagers are still forced to live under open sky in unhygienic conditions and exposed to various fatal diseases. Addressing press conference in the press club at Daggar on Friday, Abdul Raouf Khan, Ahmed Zeb Khan, Sultan Mohammad, Sher Afzal and Said Alam Kakakhel expressed sorrow over the dilapidated condition of their village, the once luxurious palaces present a deserted look after the army operation against militants when fighters and gunship, followed by heavy artillery rocked it. With questioning eyes they remembered when they took arms against intruding militants with the zeal to protect motherland with the aim evicting those were posing threat to peace by challenging writ of the government and integrity of the Pakistan. They made it clear militants were not personal enemies of the villagers but enemies of motherland. They explained that their palaces were looted, ruined, properties damages, busineses vanished, school going children displaced but the government and organizations did not come to theirhelp. They accused the governments both at center and province for ignoring them in the rebuilding of Sultanwas as a model village despite the passage of one year period. They also accused the non-governmental organizations-including United Nation Rehabilitation, Devolution Trust for Community Empowement, Sarhad Rural Support Programme and Pakistan Village Development Programme for deceiving them on the name of rehabilitation, development and empowerment, as they did nothing visible to bring a change in their life. They accused these organizations were misused their status for attracting affected locals when copies of country national identity cards collected on the pretext of launching developmental works, cash compensation, livelihood, tool kits, nutirion packets, foods and non food items but entertained just blue eyed. They alleged all of the organizations were committed gross root irregularities when utilizing the funds provided by donors and demanded of the governments at center and province and donors to initiate an enquiry to bring them into light for the sack of justice to all with immediate relief of suspension electricity,phone and school charges for next two years.
