2nd installment of Watan cards distributed among affectees
BUNER/F.P. Report: The 75 inhabitants of flood affected union council of Shalbandi were awarded Watan Card worth rupees 20000 as second installment here in a function held at technical college Swari on Tuesday while 1100 registered affected of other union councils will be awarded the cards gradually, CO Syed Mujeebur Rehman announced.
The district administration was arranged the function wherein minister education Sardar Hussain Babak was chief guest and MPA Qaisar Wali Khan, district president ANP Mohammad Karim Babak, secretary general Rahim Zada, media men and large number of beneficiaries participated. Tight security arrangements were made under direct supervision of DPO Danishwar Khan to avoid any untoward situation. The ex district nazim Haji Rouf Khan was stage secretary on the occasion.DCO in his brief speech announced total 1178 affected families were listed for compensation in response to July 27 2010 flood havocs in the district. He claimed all of the listed families were thrice verified by concerned authrorities.He repeated that first installment was issued with rupees 25000 Watan Card at Daggar by the hands of minister education already while the second installment is issued to them as per promise of the provincial government.On the occasion of awarding Watan Cards to beneficiaries the chief guest Sardar Hussain Babak and MPA Qaisar Wali Khan said the brave people of the whole division including inhabitants of district Buner were rendered unprecedented sacrifices on war against militancy adding the inhabitants of Shalbandi union councils were on top of the list when they faced a suicide bomb blast on the eve of bye elections losing 60 precious lives and more than hundred injured besides damages to worthy palaces in dozens.
